Andrea Pownall, PhD Researcher in the School of Law and Criminology, has won first place in the Maynooth University Three Minute Thesis (3MT) Competition, presenting research on understanding wage theft and the construction of workers as victims of harm.
The competition challenges postgraduate researchers to communicate their research and its significance to a diverse audience and panel of judges in just three minutes. The award recognises Andrea’s ability to communicate complex research in an engaging and accessible way, bringing often-overlooked experiences of harm into wider public discussion.
Andrea will now go on to compete in the National 3MT Competition in 2027.
