About the Dr Mary L Thornton Scholarship
This is an NUI Scholarship and Prize in Education funded by a bequest from the late Dr Mary L Thornton. In 2019, there is one scholarship available, worth €6,000 and one prize worth €1,000. The Scholarship and Prize are intended to encourage doctoral research in the field of education, including the study of higher education, within the constituent universities, linked colleges and Recognised Colleges of the NUI. NUI would wish, through the Scholarship and Prize, to encourage research related to Irish higher education and accordingly, preference will be given to applications in this area. However, applications will be accepted in relation to projects in any area of educational research.
