LIT Sports Department has announced the 3rd annual LIT Strength and Conditioning Conference, which will take place on 22nd November at the LIT Tipperary Campus on Nenagh Road at 9:30am.

LIT Strength and Conditioning Conference Line-Up

Speakers on the day include:

  • Amy McGuire – Current Performance Nutritionist with the Tipperary Senior Footballers, Member of ISSN and lecturer on the LIT Sports Strength & Conditioning Program.
  • Dr Mark Campbell – Senior Lecturer in Sports Psychology, Member of the European Federation for Sports Psychology. Sports Psychologist for Padriag Harrington.
  • Dr Aine MacNamara – Senior Lecturer in UCLAN, Consultant for the English FA, GAA, Munster & Leinster Rugby in the development of talent development pathways.
  • Michael McGeehin – Director of Coaching Ireland, Currently a coach/selector with the Tipperary Senior Footballers
  • Mark Brady – LIT Strength & Conditioning Graduate, current Cork Senior Hurling Head S&C and former Data Scientist/Assistant S&C for Italy Rugby

The LIT Sports Department provides high quality and relevant education in the field of sports and athleticism. All their programmes give a blend of theory and practice through active learning approaches where they actively prepare students for dynamic and exciting careers in their chosen industry sector. This Department works closely with leading industry organisations and experts including Sport Ireland, NSCA, Sports Partnership, and Community Groups. In addition, as all LIT students are required to complete a professional work placement, they have extensive links with leading industry professionals which ensures that graduates continue to shape and contribute to the sustainable development and future of the Irish Sports industry.
