As Research Ireland moves forward with plans to launch a new, unified enterprise fellowship programme, it has announced the final calls for two long-standing initiatives originally offered by its founding organisations, Science Foundation Ireland (SFI) and the Irish Research Council (IRC).
The SFI Industry RD&I Fellowship Programme will run one final time under the Placement Stream, while the IRC Enterprise Postdoctoral Fellowship Scheme will be offered for the last time under the Partnership Stream of the 2025 Research Ireland Enterprise Fellowship Programme.
Placement Stream
This stream is aimed at academic researchers, including faculty, postdoctoral researchers, and late-stage PhD candidates, who wish to gain direct experience in an industry setting, either in Ireland or internationally. Placements can range from 1 to 24 months, and may be undertaken on a full-time or part-time basis.
Partnership Stream
The Partnership Stream supports postdoctoral researchers or late-stage PhD students intending to carry out full-time research for 12 or 24 months. Fellows will be based in an eligible research-performing organisation and will engage in active collaboration with an enterprise partner throughout the duration of the fellowship.
Research Ireland is committed to supporting collaboration between academia and enterprise and welcomes applications from all disciplines across both streams. These final calls offer a valuable opportunity for researchers and industry partners to connect and innovate before the launch of a new consolidated fellowship programme.
