Last week marked a significant milestone for the School of Communications at DCU as they partnered with the Irish Film Institute (IFI) to host a special screening of student documentaries. As part of the IFI Dublin Documentary Festival, the event celebrated the hard work and creative vision of students from the MA in Documentary Practice.
The screening was a huge success, with attendees filling the cinema to witness a diverse collection of films. The audience was captivated by the unique stories on display, which reflected a wide range of topics from an international cohort of students. The films' subjects were as varied as their creators, spanning from the lives of Dalkey ferrymen to the making of live music for video games.
The event showcased the culmination of the students' work throughout the program, with each film demonstrating a high level of skill in non-fictional storytelling, from cinematography to audio production. It was a testament to the program's multidisciplinary approach and its focus on preparing students for a career in the industry.
