International Student Conference in Metallic Materials

The 13th Annual International Student Conference in Metallic Materials 'Adapting Industry 4.0 for Metals' will be held at the Helix in Dublin City University on the 11th and 12th July 2022.

The event provides postgraduate students and young professional researchers with an opportunity to present their work in a supportive environment and encourages them to establish links with other students, academics and professionals.

Conference schedule (11 & 12 July 2022)

9.00am: Conference opens

9:05am - 12:45pm: Keynote and Parallel Oral Presentations

1:00pm - 2:00pm: Lunch break & Poster Session

2:00pm - 5:00pm: Parallel Oral Presentations


Proposed session themes

  • Industry 4.0
  • Alloy development and processing
  • Modelling and characterisation
  • Manufacturing and recycling
  • Materials for energy, transport and the environment
  • Materials for life science and health
  • Microstructural analysis
  • Surface engineering
  • Corrosion

Poster presentations

Poster presentations will be at lunch time on both the 11th and 12th July.  There will be a prize for the best poster, voted by delegates, at the end of the conference on the 12th July.


Oral presentations

There will be a prize for the best presentation in each session, voted by delegates, at the end of the conference.


Conference dinner

There will a formal conference dinner on the 11th July at 7pm in the Arlington Hotel in Dublin City Centre. A bus has been arranged to bring delegates from The Helix to the Arlington and will return delegates to The Helix after dinner.


Conference Venue

The conference will be held at the Helix on Dublin City University (DCU) Campus on Glasnevin, North Dublin.
