Course Description
Christian Theology (P.Grad.Dip.)
This Postgraduate Diploma in Christian Theology enables participants to gain an in-depth knowledge of core issues in contemporary Christian theology. Students are introduced to historical scholarship and to rigorous contemporary theological investigation.
Students study four core modules, two optional modules and write a dissertation. Core Modules are: Readings in Classical Theological Texts; Jesus of Nazareth: Son, Christ, Word; Violence and Grace in the Human Narrative; and First Words: Theology/ies of the Bible.
Optional Modules are: Christianity of the Celtic World (600-1000 AD); Political Theology; Ministry and Church in a Challenging Era; Theology and the Art; The Role of Church in a Pluralist Society; Nature, Grace and the Triune God; and Authority, Tradition and Experience: Ecumenics as Intercultural Theology. Note modules offered differ each year. Lectures normally take place on Monday and Thursday evenings.

Entry Requirements | Admission to this course is at graduate level. Applicants will normally hold a good honours degree (minimum 2.1) in theology from a recognized university. Applicants whose degree is in a different but relevant discipline, such as philosophy, history or religious education, will be considered on a case by case basis. |
