This year a total of seven PhD researchers and one post-doctoral researcher visiting from Belgium presented some of their work. It included one student, Rachel Brown, who had recently successfully defended her VIVA Voce. Each student had a twenty-minute time slot to present, which included a five-minute question and answer slot at the end.
The presentations represented researchers at different levels in their academic journey and across the three research pillars of psychology in the department: Pillar 1, Brain, behaviour and cognition; Pillar 2: Mental & physical health, wellbeing and inclusion; and Pillar 3: Organisations, systems, technology and society.
There was time for some social interaction with some light refreshments at the end. The seminar was deemed a success with many positive comments from both participants and audience members alike. A longer session may be required in future as the session ran over time due to many interesting questions from the audience.
The full line up of presentations included;
- Niamh Petrie (Supervisors Dr Joanna McHugh Power and Dr Sadhbh Byrne) “Designing Age Friendly Housing: Space, Access and Social Connection.”
