The Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to improving human health through education, research and service. Founded in 1784, originally to train surgeons, today it provides extensive education and training in the healthcare professions at both undergraduate and postgraduate level.
RCSI operates the largest Medical School in Ireland and also provides undergraduate courses in pharmacy and physiotherapy. The College provides an extensive range of postgraduate training and education programmes in the medical sciences, surgery, medical and nursing specialties, international health, tropical medicine and leadership and healthcare management. The RCSI Research Institute is one of Ireland’s foremost research centres. The College has its headquarters in Dublin and is a recognised College of the National University of Ireland.
More than 60 countries are currently represented on RCSI’s international student body. RCSI employs 900 staff including academic, clinical, research, administration / support.

ABOUT US
Building on its heritage in management and leadership training, the RCSI established the RCSI Institute of Leadership (IL) in 2005. The IL recognises the pivotal role of excellent leaders and managers in delivering world-class healthcare. The IL provides education, training, research and consultancy to health service providers worldwide.
The Institute provides internationally recognised Masters Programmes in healthcare management, leadership, quality and patient safety. It also provides continuing professional development and tailored training programmes aimed at facilitating the development of effective healthcare organisations.
The IL has its headquarters in Ireland with centres in Dubai, Bahrain and Jordan. Currently there are 600 students registered with the Institute.
