About E-Learning

Online learners have the best of both worlds, in that they can develop independent learning strategies and study at their own pace, while also availing of the many forms of communication built into the Hibernia environment. Higher Diploma in Arts in Primary Education
The aim of Higher Diploma in Arts in Primary Education is to provide primary degree holders with the educational tools and applied knowledge to become informed and proficient, fully qualified primary school teachers. The design of the programme, blending online and face to face tuition, is ideal for anyone who wishes to continue working while studying for their teaching qualification. The 18 month long programme includes 14 weeks of teaching practice, is HETAC accredited and is fully recognised by the Department of Education and Science.
MSc in Pharmaceutical Medicine
Delivered in collaboration with faculty from Harvard University in the US and the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, this online programme is aimed at professionals within the pharmaceutical industry who wish to progress their careers through gaining a greater understanding of the industry as a whole. It is also suitable for medical practitioners who wish to enter into pharmaceutical industry. Developed in partnership with Pfizer Inc., it is accredited by both HETAC and the International Federation of Associations of Pharmaceutical Physicians (IFAPP).
MSc in Financial Management & Control
Hibernia College's online Masters of Science in Financial Management & Control is accredited by HETAC and it is envisaged that it will also offer exemptions from the examination requirements of certain professional accountancy bodies. It is a specialised degree designed to prepare finance professionals to be dynamic drivers of business performance by providing them with the tools and knowledge to identify and report on the true drivers of business performance , thus enabling them to add value to their organisations rather than function solely as financial technicians.
MA in Teaching & Learning
Hibernia College’s Master of Arts in Teaching & Learning provides today’s primary and post-primary teachers with the knowledge and skills necessary to deal with current issues in the modern classroom. Specific areas covered include additional learning needs; diversity, development and disadvantage; i-learning and contemporary issues in education.
Delivered online by experienced education professionals with a focus on classroom application, this Masters provides the tools and knowledge to enable teachers bring the latest innovations and best practice into the class setting. Because the content is based on strategies and techniques (rather than a particular classroom curriculum) graduates from the programme will be able to apply their new skills regardless of the age of the students with whom they work.
Continuing Professional Development for Teachers
Hibernia College offers a suite of online continuing professional development courses for primary teachers. Each course is 20 hours long and is completed entirely online through downloadable course material and online discussion forums moderated by expert facilitators. Courses are available in both English and Irish and cover topics such as ICT in Education, Psychology of Education, Special Educational Needs and Teaching Methodologies for various curriculum subjects. During the summer these courses are approved by the Department of Education and Skills for extra personal vacation (EPV) days for qualifying participants.
