Engineers Ireland delivers future-proofing report
Engineers Ireland have launched a report indicating the way forward for our infrastructure in the next 20 years.<br /><br />By 2030, we will have a population of eight million on the island of Ireland, with half of these living in Dublin and Belfast<br /><br />Don Moore of the Irish Academy of Engineering says many aspects of life, including health, will change dramatically.<br /><br />"We would anticipate with broadband that many people with illness will be monitored in their own homes, " he said. <br /><br />"That will avoid the need for people spending long times in hospital, or even making regular visits to hospital."
