Conradh na Gaeilge are running a preparation day for people applying to the primary school teaching postgraduate course for the first time in Dublin on Saturday, 21 November 2009, between 10.00am - 5.00pm in the heart of the city centre at No. 6 Harcourt Street, Dublin 2.
The Conradh’s day course will focus both on studying and practising for the Irish interview which must be passed to secure a place in the educational institutions, giving practical tips on how to go about the interview as well as going through appropriate topics of conversation, pronunciation and school terminology.
There will be an individual mock-interview and personal feedback included, and the course with Conradh na Gaeilge will ensure every applicant is ready to properly approach the preparation and study needed to undertake the teaching interview effectively and efficiently.
While Conradh na Gaeilge has great experience organising such preparation courses in Galway, this is the first time the course for the primary teaching applicants is being held in the capital.
Brenda Ní Ghairbhí, Development and Office Executive with Conradh na Gaeilge says: 'we decided to provide a preparation course focused on the Irish interview for Dublin-based applicants going for the primary teaching postgrad this year as there was such demand for the course in Galway, and we have had numerous enquiries from people wondering where in the capital they could do a similar course.'
Jacqueline Uí Mhúirí, who teaches the Conradh na Gaeilge courses, noted: 'the course with the Conradh gives people a chance to practise their Irish, and to have a go at doing a mock-interview, so they can brush up on their language skills in time for the Irish interview with the educational institutions, such as the one Hibernia College will be holding later this year.'
The preparation courses costs €100 and you can book your place now on Conradh na Gaeilge’s website at www.cnag.ie, or you can call the Conradh on +353 (0)1 4757401.
