Electrical and Electronic Engineering graduates have a large range of options. Many of the world’s largest manufacturers of electronic equipment have operations in Ireland. Graduates are also in high demand in the manufacturing, IT, aerospace, energy generation, telecommunications, multimedia and general business sectors. Graduates of most engineering degree courses can apply for chartered engineering membership from the Institution of Engineers of Ireland, which is the Irish professional body for engineers.Many graduates also go on to postgraduate study and research in their particular areas of interest or specialisation (e.g., artificial intelligence, new forms of energy production). Starting salaries for electronic engineers range from approximately €31,000 to €34,000. With experience, they can earn anything from €39,000 to €61,000.
